compress, uncompress no sim link to gunzip?

I did not install all packages on either of the systems I saw this on.  

Not a big problem really.  Now that I know there is a separate package
that includes compress/uncompress.  Would not have hit this except I was
installing TeleDesk application that monitors a AccessLine phone.

Besides the compress issue I also had to change the install script to
point to the JRE that I already had loaded.  The bundled JRE was looking
for a library that I did not have on the system.
