I would update my kernel as the first move, since this looks like it
could be a driver issue.  What exactly is your card?  What do the

ifconfig eth0

error stats look like both on the .108 machine and the one you are
running ettercap on?  Can you try running snort on that machine too, see
if you are getting the same reports?  Try running snort or ettercap on
another machine in the subnet to eliminate the possibility the problem
is coming out of the snooping machine's ethernet card.
