Have you:

a) Upgraded cdrecord to latest version?
b) Verified permissions for /usr/bin/cdrecord is 755?
c) Upgraded K3b?
d) Use K3bSetup 2 to configure K3b?
e) Try cdrdao?
f) Checked SELinux context and/or upgraded SELinux policies?
