When I installed a differnt NIC, I placed it in a different PCI slot
than the original NIC. The NIC that came with the PC is a 3COM
3c905C-TX/TX-M Tornado, at least that is what it says in the RHE3
Hardware browser. When I tested a different NIC in a differnt PCI slot,
the NIC was an Intel Pro/100+ adapter.
