No sound after bad dvd in xine

Hi all

I was playing a dvd in xine and outputting it as SPDIF to my surround decoder.

The dvd (rental) is gone beyond use and caused xine to crash. I killed xine,
waited five minutes for the system to release its grasp on the dvd player,
then ejected it.

Now, it seems like the system is locked in passtrhu mode and every setting I
tried on the alsamixer failed to bring back my normal sound.

For information, I use a coaxial cable from my soundcard's digital out to my
surround decoder. On normal operation, the decoder detects the stereo signal
and uses it, and when playing films, it detects the DOLBY signal and acts
accordingly.

I tried a system restart to no avail, and the only remotly usefull reference
to this same problem I found with google, solved itself magically after three
days.

Being an audio junkie, I cannot live without my music for three days so please
help me with this one.

O, and believe it or not, when I put another dvd in, the sound is there in
5.1. But nothing else is working.

WIth kind regards

Andy
