My computer is a Toshiba Sat M45-s265 with Intel 82801FBM Ultra ATA storage
controller
I'm trying to recompile the kernel 2.6.12 on FC42.6.11-1.1369. I get warnings
like /lib/modules/2.6.12/kernel/drivers/scsi/ahci.ko needs unknown symbol
ATA_....
and a warning at the end sayin the module ata_piix wasn't found for kernel
2.6.12. Although I'm sure I set the ata_piix in low level scsi drivers on when
I run make menuconfig. When I try to boot the computer using this kernel I get
the following error
mkrootdev: label /1 not found
mount error 2 mounting ext3
ERROR opening /dev/console !!!!:2
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 0
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 1
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 2
switchroot mount file:2
Kernel panic: not syncing: Attempted to kill init.
Does anybody have an idea what kind of kernel compile options or boot parameters
will help me get rid of this problem?
