Questions about mod_perl module and Apache in Fedora Core 4 environment

Hello,

I installed Fedora Core 4 with 4 Fedora core 4
distribution CDs. I think Apache2 and mod_perl 2.0 are
installed with Fedora Core 4 installation. After
installation, I checked /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf, I
found in LoadModule  section, list lots of modules be
loaded, but I didn't find 

LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so 

Does this mean mod_perl not loaded into Apache server
at the compile time? If I add the above line into
httpd.conf and do not re-compile apache will it work
for me?
