it does take some time depending on how often the mirroring is being
done. the packages are not pushed to other mirrors. rather the network
admins choose to pull them when they want to.  it can vary from a few
hours to a  couple of days on rare occasions . fc3 yum automatically
switches between mirrors for each try so just retrying the same thing
can get you the updates faster
