FC3 Boot Problem and Possible Solution

Hi

I just installed FC3, it when well.

When i boot it hangs up about the HAL/mdmpd marker.

So i put the install disk back in and selected F5

chroot /mnt/sysimage

ntsysv

and unchecked both mdmpd and HAL.

Rebooted and everything works fine.

What wrong with mdmpd and/or HAL?  and

Have i damaged my install in some way?
