Efficiently deleting an entire thread in Evolution

Is there a way to delete an entire thread in Evolution that doesn't
place the message marker at the top of the list of messages?

Specifically, when I do Ctrl-H followed by Ctrl-D, the thread is erased,
which is good, but the message marker gets set to the top of the list of
messages.  I have to scroll down through messages to get to where I
was.  

Not a huge deal.  I prefer to use the keyboard for navigation when
reading e-mail.  I would just use Mutt, but Evolution's virtual folders
are very useful.
