KVM and MOUSE problems

I didn't see any attached grub.conf file, but if you have two kernel lines, do you also have two title times? And if so, do they come up as options when you boot the machine?

If so, look at what you use when you boot. Pick the kernel line that goes with the option you choose when you boot. In my grub.conf, title sits against the left margin, and the statements that go with it are indented. The kernel line should be a single line within these statements, something like:

	kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.22-1.2199.nptl ro rhgb root=LABEL=/

(Yes, I'm still running FC1. It works.)

Add the option to that line, so that it reads like:

	kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.22-1.2199.nptl ro rhgb root=LABEL=/ psmouse.proto=bare

Note that these lines may be wrapped, depending on what you use to read your mail. They should be a single line in grub.conf.

If you have two sets of options which both boot Linux, could you possibly still be holding on to an older version? If so, and you'd like to recover the space it takes up, do rpm -qa | grep kernel, and look for the older kernel. Use rpm -e to remove it. That might get rid of your second set of options in grub.conf as well.

Please excuse the real newbie question -- I am not sure where to look
beside the list for help

I am trying to resolve the issue with my mouse that is noted in the
bugzilla article listed above, and the prescribed fix is to add the line
shown to my boot options, which are noted to exist in the GRUB.CONF
file. The bugzilla thread says to put it in the kernel line of the
grub.conf file. Below is my grub.conf file and as you can see, it has 2
kernel lines both of which have options attached. What do I do? (I feel
like such an idiot having to ask) I am hesitant to make changes without
being sure of how to do it, as having to rebuild this machine would put
a significant dent in my available time

Thanks for your help

TIM
