FC3 & HP 5200C USB Scanner .

Has anybody gotten one of these to work with FC3 (2.6.9-1.681_FC3smp)?
I've tried every suggestion I could find, and no soap.

cdrecord -scanbus finds it, sometimes, after re-plugging the USB cable.
Likewise, scanimage -L.

On the occasions when the device is thusly recognized, xsane allows me
to select the device and then, upon attempting to scan, generates an I/O
error.

Any tips?
