Midi file not supported by intel8x0 sound driver ?

Hello!

I found my motherboard which have internel sound card which is AC97
and 82801BA and Fedora Core 3 used intel8x0 sound driver.

But I failed to play the midi file and message "device file
/dev/sequencer not found" displayed.
Other sound type and I can listen the realplayer.

Do the driver is not support midi file ?
