That depends on the exact ati card you have I believe.  I've got a 
9200SE with 128 megs of ram (rv-280 chipset), and the opengl stuff is 
running just fine once I'd compiled the drm stuffs into my kernel.org 
kernel, presently 2.6.11-rc1-V0-7.35-01.  Yeah I bleed a bit now and 
then...

Tuxracer seems to run just fine.
