system-config-kickstart... What is it?

I use FC2 and want to know what system-config-kickstart is supposed to do. It 
says it creates kickstart files, but I don't know what that means. I saw a 
partitioner and other stuff that reminds me of the installation, but the 
partitioner doesn't see my drives, and it talks about a package selection and 
installation methods. Thanks!
