If you have NetworkManager (aka Notwork Mangler) running, turn it off

service NetworkManager stop

Why not post your whole

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

here.  Also, your

/etc/modules.conf

and the results of running

/sbin/ifconfig -a
