filesystems on ppc vs. i686 - are they the same? both ext3.

I'm needing to format some disks for usage in a linux installation with 
the ppc arch. I used a linux installation on an i686 to format the disks.
Will the disks work on the ppc system? Or is there a difference between 
the formats?
The ppc device is a pretty minimul installation and has to have disk 
utilities loaded to ramdisk temporarily to do anything like basic disk 
partitioning and formatting.
This is more of a curousity, since I ran into this situation and have 
not powered up the ppc device yet for tests.
