mount to NFS server failed

on the stkserver i shared with nfs the folder /mnt/stuff
i edit the exports file:

cat /etc/exports
/mnt/stuff/              222.169.100.0/24(rw,sync,all_squash)
exportfs -a

i even disabled the security/firewall on the server and client

every time i try to mount it on the client i get this error

# mount -t nfs STKserver:/mnt/stuff /mnt/share/
mount to NFS server 'STKserver' failed.
