If you look at 
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=56243
you will see how to upgrade MySQL to the latest and
the greatest. There is a package called shared-compat
that installs the needed client libraries. MySQL AB
have also taken the effort to provide all the needed
rpms so its just a question of grabbing them.

This is one of those occasions where :-

- An faq entry would help (In
fedorafaq.org/fedoraguide.org or the many other docs
sites. <sarcasm>Assuming they get their act
together.</sarcasm>)
- It would be quicker to search the archives and
fedoraforum.org before starting a new post.
