FC on Macintosh & run-from-flash configurations...

Now that dealers are dropping prices on Mac sysems now that
Apple has announced an intention to drop the PPC, has anyone
had extensive experience with running FC3 or FC4 on the iMac's
(either desktop, laptop, or miniMac)?

What issues have you experienced?

And on another note:  what is involved in building a minimum
run-from-flash image (i.e. that boots and runs off a 1GB or 2GB
flash card)?  It would have a /tmp/ filesystem on RAM disk, but
no swapping (yet VM all the same) and no writable local
filesystems (including the root, obviously).
