I've had several ASUS mobos where the BIOS would let you set the speed as opposed to having it try to detect it. I had power glitches cause reboots and the BIOS would detect the lower speed for the CPU when it came back up. Nailing the speed via the BIOS solved the problem. Bill Gradwohl
