command to list ownership of folder

ls and chown and chmod work on both folders and files. In fact, in Unix
systems, there is little difference. A folder (aka directory) is just a
file that lists the files in it with pointers to them. It has a special
format and they are recognized by the system and handled specially, but
in many respects they are simply index files.
