Fedora Core 3 x86_64 Install

I was able to overcome this problem regarding FC3 x86_64 installation
and a buggy x server. 
1. First I performed the initial full install.
2. booted into init 3 or single user mode after installation.
3. without initiating the graphic mode performed up2date from root
command line.

Unless they have updated the install disks when I last used them. There
is a buggy x server on the installation disks for FC3 x86_64. to get
passed that issue I just ran an upgrade via up2date. Doing this replaced
that x server with the updated one. After that I haven't had any
problems at all. You'll also find your fans working better to.

Ok, what's the AGP mode set on the BIOS?? If it is auto, try setting
it to the lowest possible sped (something like 2x or 4x)...

I had a similar problem using a Radeon 9200 on an A8V; graphic mode
would cause problems when the AGP mode was automatically set by the
BIOS. 4x works like a charm :P

I am still looking for an explanation on the cause of this problem...
