font/res/audio FC4 - NM2200 on inpiron 3500 (James NYC)

Please help me....

1. No 1024x768 resolution on my inspiron 3500 display
when card and lcd is capable.
2. Secondly the fonts are very rough/blurry.
3. Thirdly no audio

Let me state I have tried several bug fixes online to
no avail that were posted on differenct sites
for FC1-FC4 builds.

Hardware:
An inpiron 3500 laptop
NeoMagic MagicMedia 256AV card
256MB memory
20GB hard drive
3COM 3CCFE575CT-B

I installed FC4 and the following problems occured

Sound card ad1484 could not be found.
Fonts are blurry
No resultion above 800x600 even though it is capable
of 1024x768

I have done 5 clean installations with 5 different
solutions tried for the different problems. I have
placed the links below. I actually did one more clean
install hopefully to prepare the laptop for an answer.

I am a newbie to Linux, but have been using PC's and
Macs for 20 years.
