FC4: jittery DVD playback

   Last time I tried this (same DVD drive, FC3) it was fine.
   Now, FC4 and one spanking new mobo later (was dual 533Mhz Celerons, now 
3.0Ghz P4) I tried a DVD yesterday and it plays jittery:  I get a partial 
secnod of playback, then a brief pause, then play, then pause.  The glitch 
seems to maintani the same periodicity, and audio sounds fine.

   And I get the same symtom with both ogle and xine.

   Any thoughts as to where to look?  I believe I've enabled 32-bit DMA on my 
DVD ROM drive.
