nvidia (dev permission) problems w latest updates

      kernel :  (kernel-2.6.14-1.1637_FC4smp) 
      nvidia-glx.i386 1.0.7676-0.lvn.3.4
      kernel-module-nvidia-2.6.14-1.1637_FC4smp.i686 1.0.7676-0.lvn.3.4
   
   I now get error running glxgears :

      % glxgears
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission denied).
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission denied).
Segmentation fault

     % ls -l  /dev/nvidiactl
0 crw-------  1 root root 195, 255 Nov 11 11:52 /dev/nvidiactl

     After this I tried running as root and its fine.
   
     Then I did chmod go+rw /dev/nvidia*
 
     and non-root user is now fine.

    Odd thing - after doing the livna update I swear i ran this and it tested 
fine. Today its not working ... could something have changed it overnight?
