I wanted to install webcore-fonts. I grabbed an rpm (webcore-fonts-1.3-1.noarch.rpm). After installing, my fonts looked horrible. Everything had serious jaggies. I tried everything I could think of, including repeatedly logging out/in, restarting X server. Finally, I removed ~/.fonts, ~/.fonts.conf ~/.fonts-cache*. That fixed it.
