Can't create new submenu with kmenuedit - no answer up to now :-(

Hello list,

I posed my question to this list one week ago, and I haven't recevieved any 
answer until know. Does really nobody know, how to get rid of the problem 
described below?

It is impossible to create a new menu entry with kmenuedit. When I entry a
new submenu, and afterwards to this submenu new elements, everything seems to
work fine. The new submenu can be seen, and it is also possible to save the 
new configuration. However, when I leave and start kmenuedit again, my new
submenu is missing, nothing has changed.

I habe installed kde 3.00, and I am running Fedora.
