I´m new to Linux so someone probably can tell you a more elegant way to
do it but here goes:

1st, if you don´t have one, download Knoppix 3.9 and create a CD from
the image. Knoppix is the greatest tool since the Swiss Army Knife.

2nd, get rid of stuff you don´t need on the ntfs partition and do a full
defrag.

3rd, boot Knoppix, click on the KMenu, System, QTParted.

4th, QTParted will display the drives it finds. Select the ntfs
partition and QTParted will display a graphical picture of the drive and
the partitions. Select the Re-size tool and drag it to the new size you
want. That´s basically it. QTParted is easy to use - I did it about a
month ago for the first time on a laptop with XP & was able to create a
new partition for FC4 and it worked great.
