beagle search fails to find new documents ?

You need to enable "Extended Attributes" for the part of the file system 
beagle should be monitoring.  Otherwise, the update process is much 
slower.  See

Another open FC5 issue is MS .doc indexing. .doc parsing and indexing 
requires a version of wv.  A wv is in extras; I am in the processing of 
verifying that this version of wv is compatible with FC5's beagle.  So 
far, beagle has started to reindex "Document" types (see the type filter 
in the search gui).  Previously indexed "Document" types do not show up 
in beagle's search.  A newly modifed .odt does, so I'm optimistic.
