ADDENDUM:

I was a little sloppy in describing my network.  The route from outside 
ISP is:

ISP ---> cable modem ---> VOIP router ---> eth1 (linux box running Samba)

the VOIP router is doing the NAT & providing the ip addr: 192.168.15.100 
that is showing up in my logs.  Running ifconfig I see this ip to the 
outside world.
