Switching eth cards

Hi, how can I switch my eth cards, so the one that is recognived as
eth0 will be eth1 and the eth1 will become eth0 ?

I've tried changing in /etc/modprobe.conf

alias eth0 ne2k-pci
alias eth1 8139too

to

alias eth0 8139too
alias eth1 ne2k-pci

but that didn't work :-(
