How to copy a Fedora system?

As a matter of interest, I installed attr.i386 2.4.28-1.2 package
(with yum) under FC-5,
but getfattr appears to do absolutely nothing:

[root at alfred ~]# getfattr -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
[root at alfred ~]#
