I got command not found as regular user and root

Maybe because I don't even have the Gnome desktop installed.

The only things from Gnome that are installed are the things that I 
guess Fedora and maybe KDE had to have to run properly.

Patrick's response did the trick

gconftool-2 -s -t 
string /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/mailto/command "kmail %s"
