hi..
i'm trying to get yum up/running..
i initially had FC3. everything was working. an attempt was made to go to
FC4. most things appeared to look ok. i quickly realized that something
screwed up, when i saw that the rpm db was not functioning. i
rebuilt/repaired that. i then realized that yum is not working... i've tried
to build from source yum 2.4.2/2.4.3 with the same error...
i have...
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:
No module named cElementTree
Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.
It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.3 (#1, Jun 13 2006, 16:41:18)
[GCC 4.0.2 20051125 (Red Hat 4.0.2-8)]
If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq
my python files are...
[root at lserver5 noarch]# rpm -qa py*
pyOpenSSL-0.6-1.p24.4.1
pyorbit-2.0.1-1
pyparted-1.6.9-3
python-2.4.3-8.FC4
python-elementtree-1.2.6-6.2.el4.rf
pygtk2-2.4.1-fc3.1
python-urlgrabber-2.9.7-1.2.el4.rf
pyxf86config-0.3.19-1
python-devel-2.4.3-8.FC4
pygtk2-libglade-2.4.1-fc3.1
python-sqlite-1.1.6-1
i know this can work as i have a system that was a fresh install to FC4 that
has yum/pyhton working correctyl!!
any thoughts on what should be done... should i try to completely remove
python...
this is kind of strange...
thanks
