how to enable/disable monitor power management?

Currently I am using KDE. It has monitor power management by right
clicking at the desktop
configure desktop >> display >> power control
By default power management is off

but somehow my monitor turns off automatically after displaying the
screen saver for sometime. That's why I am clueless on how to fix
this.
