Take a look at the documentation on the cups site for interface files,
that's what we do to run some old DOS apps that print and need
reformatting.

Subject: print to a file that executes some script

Hello,

How can I define a printer in CUPS or LPD/LPR to print to a file that
executes some code like

'convert the output(.ps) to pdf with ps2pdf, launch acroread to send the

file per email to ...'

Thanks
