Hi All,

I'm a new member here and I'd like to ask about my Fedora Core's 4 Problem.

Welcome to the list. I run GNOME (mostly, unless the mood for KDE strikes my fancy, temporarily.)

I've just upgrade my fedora core 4's KDE from default to 3.5... after I upgrade I've got some crash in my KDE application like K3B. And this crash also happen when I'm shutting down my computer from KDE's session. Logs from the crash look like these :

I'm using development but the packages should be the same, though different versions. See in line comments. RPM can give a lot of useful information.

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".

It seems that there is a problem with the glibc library.
 rpm -q --whatprovides /lib/libthread_db-1.0.so
glibc-2.3.90-37

The no debugging symbols found indicate that you need the package-debug rpm for the failing program. You might need the k3b-debuginfo package installed to reveal the failures.

Arts is of course the audio related and used by KDE. K3B uses arts for some factors. I believe hunting for a bug report which fits your problem on bugzilla.redhat.com (need to open an account if not already active)

Hopefully someone more versed in KDE or in debugging will assist you better.
