convert tar.gz to RPM

[Mark Haney]

There was a post on here a few days ago (and I've searched the archives 
for it and can't find it about the steps needed to convert a tarball to 
an RPM (or SRPM).  Can someone point me to the archive or get me moving 
in the right direction?
