MAC --> IP address?

Assuming the router does not allow assigning IP addresses by MAC address
does it allow you to specify how many addresses are in the DHCP range?

If you only have one system on your local LAN that uses DHCP just
restrict the range to the one address.  Assign other systems static
addresses, a workstation or server does not need a dynamic address.

So if you have just a single laptop just restrict the addresses DHCP
passes out to one.  Then you always know what address to use.
