cron jobs not running

Good morning all:

Running an FC3 box, I've got a user that has root cron jobs that are
just not running.  I've checked the contents of the file, all the
permissions, made sure cron is running, restarted cron and rebooted the
box and still nothing.

Any other ideas what I should be looking for?  Even putting a simple
line in like:

1,5,10 * * * * /bin/ls -la / >> /tmp/cron.ls_log 2>&1 

Does not run when it's supposed to???
