what to do with *.rpmnew files?

Are there any tools to compare/apply the differences between the rpmnew
> version and my current version? Or, do I have to do something like run

$ diff file1 file2
will do the job.

PS. Answering to your subject. just do nothing if you have changed your
configuration files and the application runs for you just let it that way.
