How to downgrade a package to a specific minor revision

This is advisable for major revisions, like from 7.4 to 8.0 or 8.0 to 8.1. My problem (which was already covered on the postgresql-general list) is that I have a database containing non-UNICODE characters which restored just fine up until now, but the new UNICODE checks in the minor revision 8.0.8 refuses to restore my databases because of mentioned characters.
