Fedora Core 5 Unstability

hi there!

every time i get into fedora, after i login with kde, fedora just blocks. it usually happens 1/2 minutes after i login. i tried with gnome, i've reinstalled, disabled services, logged in with other desktop environments but it still has this problem. i'd appreciate some help 'cause i love fedora core 5 but i can't do anything before it blocks.

System:
- P4 2.8 Ghz
- 512 Ram
- 40 GB HDD
- Swap Partition: 600 Mb
- Fedora Partition: 10 GB
