Initrd /dev scripts?

Hmm... so, would it be possible to, say, make a tarball of the /dev 
directory when FC5 is booted normally, and restore the tarball when 
booted in coLinux without udev to make the associations permanent?  I've 
never tried tarring device nodes before...
