Microsoft Express Tools (WAS: c++ programming evironment)

cool!!!

right now the app (wget) is a console app that recurses through websites as
a kind of basic crawler/spider...

sounds like the express app would work...

might have to chek it out..

i've got eclipse on one of my linux boxes.. it appears to be solid enough to
do what i need...

i really don't want to wear the dev hat again!!!!

Gonna start a new thread since this really has nothing to do with
Fedora.  Here is a link to the Express editions for the Microsoft
tools...

Visual Studio essentially gives you a Microsoft-centric development
environment centering around C#, Visual C++, and J#.  SQL Server
Express gives you a solid, yet simple, version of SQL Server.  Both
are free and licensed for commercial and non-commercial development.
So, no real reason to spend cash to go from v6 to 2005 unless there
are features you need.

If your app is a simple utility that is designed to be Windows only,
then the Express editions should do the trick nicely.  However, if
you plan to do anything with it on Linux, Mac, or UNIX, it would
probably be beneficial to look at something like Eclipse & CDT.
