That was the problem, thanks. I ended up solving it yesterday and
posting that to the list. However I ended up with two threads because
I changed the subject line when I solved the first issue (to include
SOLVED) and posted the solved for the second issue (.htaccess) in that
thread as well. But thanks again for the info. I ended up going with
AllowOverride=AuthConfig. And in .htaccess I put Require valid-user
instead of using a GroupName to authorize any of the users in
.htpasswd.
