I think she meant to make the line like

#Theme=blahblah

so it would be ignored.  My kdmrc file has this line

Theme=/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/Bluecurve

Comment your existing theme as suggested and stick the line shown above
in instead.  If that still won't let kdm start, try also changing the line

UseTheme=true

in that file to

UseTheme=false
