FC5 Anaconda Hang

I just tried to install Fedora Core 5 and failed.  It just gets into the
graphical installer  with a blank window and X plain mouse pointer or
into the text installer and stops.  The last message on the third
virtual terminal in both cases is 

	no floppy device found but we'll try fd0 anyway

Anaconda is absolutely correct there is no floppy.

I tried installing with "linux askmethod" with the isos on my hard
drive. I tried to install of the cds, "linux text" "linux askmethod
text" all with the same results.

FC4 calls this a:
