Just FYI:  Macrovision isn't a part of a DVD drive, it's something done
in the video digital-to-analogue circuitry.  It's usually turned on and
off by a flag in the video stream, though some hardware has Macrovision
signal bastardisation running all the time.

Zoning is, rather foolishly, done in the drive.  It may well be done
elsewhere, as well, but drives can be region locked.
